“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:13-14
Life sometimes slows us down when we feel ready to go. We long to move ahead and keep on going. We exhaust ourselves when we lack what we need and become frustrated when we have to slow down. We forget where to find strength and need to be reminded God is the One who prepares us to GO.
He wants us to remember we are valued and loved and focus on the abilities He gives us. We won’t achieve goals at once or win every race we enter. God helps us recognize we don’t have to strive to be #1. He invites us to come as we are, in need of the Savior and humble our hearts for His love.
God has a plan for our days. He readies us to receive rewards as we strive to be more like Jesus; compassionate and kind, willing to let others race with us. He provides what we need to run with FAITH and remember to TRUST if we need to slow down.
Jesus paid the price for our sin. In the midst of recognizing our frailties, He guides us with the STRENGTH of truth. He reminds us we are more than the fleeting fulfillment of believing we are the best. He leads us to the Father and helps us find joy in who we're becoming because of His faithfulness to us.
God will bless the heart of our gratitude as He grow us. We will begin to see how it feels to step in the fullness of His grace. He will help us move toward wholeness, if we fix our eyes on Jesus, examine our hearts and move in the right direction. He will help us find joy in the lesson of learning it’s okay to walk instead of run. Jesus will help us find the way to the Father. He will guard our steps with love.
Dear God, You are mighty, holy and true! Forgive us when we forget baby steps WILL bring us closer to You. Humble our hearts to be more like Jesus so we will step in truth; reminded we are winners when we race toward our eternal rewards. Thank you for what we learn when we move in faith and trust in You. Thank you for the love of Jesus. It blesses us in so many ways. Amen
