Hearing God's Whispers
Each year when preschool begins, I typically greet a few students who are quiet and reserved. Often, it’s difficult for them to initiate conversation with others. In a busy, loud classroom, it’s hard to hear the requests of children who speak with a gentle voice. But, taking time to listen, makes a world of difference to those who long to be heard.
We can’t hear whispers, unless we are quiet and still. God gently speaks to our hearts. He longs for us to take time to listen. He guides us in His will, and reminds us we are worthy to come before His presence and commune with Him. God lovingly calls us by name, and prepares us to understand how He will speak to our hearts.
God speaks through the Bible, through others and through our circumstances. He speaks to us through his Holy Spirit, and allows us to recognize when we are filled in His peace.
The Bible says, “Be still and know that I am God. “ Psalm 46:10 NIV When we stop and recognize God is calling us to listen, He rewards us with a grateful heart. Through the heartbeats of His love, God hears the expressions of words spoken, and recognizes the longings of our souls. He hears our prayers and reminds us He is near.
God often shows His will in quiet moments, when life cannot interrupt the stillness of our souls. In this time of reflection, we begin to understand what He is trying to say. If we trust in God, He prepares us to follow His lead, and discover what He has planned. But we will need to take time to listen. It will make a world of difference to our loving God who patiently waits to be heard…
God is near and He loves YOU,
NAN
Listen to and obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people; and walk in the whole way that I command you, that it may be well with you. Jeremiah 7:23:
God spoke to me today

He didn’t speak in thunder
But He whispered in my ear.
