“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 NIV
We decorate our homes, shop for gifts and attend holiday events as we prepare for Christmas. But, how do we prepare our hearts to receive the Christ Child and embrace the glory of His birth?
It’s easy to become distracted in busy days of December. We wish
Christmas wouldn’t come so soon. We get caught up in the routine of our lives and need to be reminded to welcome the Savior.
Christ longs for us to welcome His peace, with a loving heart that is pure. He invites us to stop and be still. He leads us from the hectic pace in our lives and draws us closer than before. In moments of great purpose, He shows us how to welcome calm and forget about the things which cause us to worry. He helps us turn our eyes on Him and recognize His presence in our lives.
God renews His Spirit in us when we respond to the tugging of our hearts. He helps us prepare for Christmas. And, when we have been led where distractions can't steal calm, He will help us find His strength and teach us how to welcome Christmas.
Dear God, Thank you for sending Your Son. Open our hearts to experience this beautiful season of hope. Lead us back to the manger, so we will receive Your greatest gift to the world and find PEACE as we welcome Jesus. Amen
