For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17
“Oh come, oh come Emmanuel” are words we hear at Christmas. They open our hearts to welcome the Savior and remind us to focus on Him. They help us understand the miracle of the manger.
Jesus arrived in a filthy stable hardly fit for a King. He shared space with the animals. Mary brought forth the Son of God in crude surroundings. And, in moments to welcome her child, HOPE came from humbled hearts which were grateful.
God shows us how to examine our hearts. He opens our eyes to His will and reminds us why we must learn to trust. He leads us where peace is found in what He provides and reminds us; Jesus came to humble us in HOPE.
HOPE is something we need. Christ leads us to the Father and shows us how to feel His presence in our lives. And, when we open our hearts to receive Him, He remains in us.
God longs for us to welcome Jesus and make room for Him to dwell. He is mighty, holy and true. We will never fully understand the depth of His love, or recognize the plans He has for our earthly days. But, we can faithfully BELIEVE we are loved and held by our HOPE in Him; EVERY day of our lives.
"Oh come, oh come Emmanuel!”. We WILL make room for YOU.
Dear God, Thank you for moments to be led to the manger, where we open our hearts and welcome Jesus. We are humbled by the power of Your love. We will love You with all of our hearts and make room for You to dwell. Bless us in this day and guide us where peace will flourish by the strength of Your faithfulness. Amen
