"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." Luke 2: 14 NIV
God places compassion in our hearts and shows us how to
use it for His glory. He gives purpose to our days. And, when we have discovered
those in need, He reminds us to care for others, as Christ cares for us.
Many help one another at Christmas, when the heart is ready
for giving and good will is shared among men. But, God wants us to love one
another EVERY day of our lives and consider how we will bless those who need to
be led to His peace.
PEACE came when the Christ child was born. God’s message
of peace on earth to all mankind began in the manger. Jesus brought love to the
world when He arrived.
Love is a “decision followed by an action”. Jesus demonstrated
the love of God. He loved others and cared for them with a servant’s heart. He
said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." and "A new command
I give you; love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one
another." John 13:34, 35
Love for others begins with love for Jesus and a desire
to love others as ourselves. God will have mercy and compassion for those who
share His love. But, we must love the Lord with all of our hearts, our minds
and our strength. And, if we are faithful; He will bless us abundantly.
Dear God, Thank you for Your love. Help us turn our
hearts to You and receive the love of Your faithfulness. Prepare us to be instruments
of Your peace and show us how to love one another with a heart like Jesus. Amen
