“Run in such a way that you may obtain the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24

Christ readies us for the race of our lives. He teaches to be patient. He gives strength as we learn to trust and helps us recognize what it means to be faithful.

God knows what will happen next in our lives. He knows there will be obstacles along the way. But, He shows us when it’s time to press on. Jesus gives us desire to keep on going, when we walk in Him, before we choose to run. He helps us persevere, when we strive in the strength of His holiness and learn to love Him with all of our hearts.  

God sets the stage for us to be ready to GO. We press on, moving forward. We gather spiritual strength from Christ. He renews our souls, so we will understand how to obtain the eternal reward which is given to more than one runner.

We must run in such a way that we will obtain the prize. We must fight the good fight of faith. It will not be awarded for our good works or determined by how fast we run. God will hold the prize which motivates us to keep going. And, Christ will show us how to live our lives, so we will receive the crown of eternal reward.  

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12

Dear God, Sometimes it’s hard for us to see what’s ahead. Thank you for holding the prize which motivates us to keep going. As we learn to trust in the strength of Jesus, we will prepare our hearts to focus on You and remember what must be done to receive Your eternal reward. Amen
