But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Matthew 14:27 NIV
There
will be days when doubt will creep in the soul of our well-being. We will
forget to trust in the Lord and allow ourselves to be held by His mighty power
of strength. Fear will rob us of faith, and we’ll need to be reminded why we
must hold on.
Jesus performed
many miracles. Peter walked on water. But, when he began to sink, he called
for Jesus to help. His faith was weakened and he was afraid. When we are
afraid, God longs for us to BELIEVE more, so we will SUFFER less.
When we find ourselves sinking, the sense of need
drives us to the One who saves. Jesus reminds us why we must come to Him. He
pulls us from the waves of worry. And, when we are ready to trust, He hears our prayers
for strength. He diminishes doubt which dwells in our weakness and increases our
faith, as we’re led to the safety of the shore.
God is never far from us in time of need. There
WILL be storms in our lives. But, He WILL strengthen our faith, as He
strengthens us. He will guide and provide all the days of our lives. We must
prayerfully seek Him with all of our hearts and never forget He has power
to save. He will rescue us!
Dear God, Thank you for Your everlasting love.
Forgive us when doubt tries to rob us of Your strength. Teach us to trust in
the power of Your will and increase the heart of our faithfulness, even in the
storms of our lives. Amen
