“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2 NIV 

“God is great, God is good!” We remember the prayer of our childhood and how often it was spoken. But, as adults, we often forget to begin our prayers in praise. We neglect to remember that PEACE comes from the power of God’s “good“. 

God IS great! He offers us His awesome presence in our lives and longs for us to love Him with a GRATEFUL heart. Sometimes, we become consumed by our agendas. We don't devote ourselves in prayer and we forget who’s in charge of our days. 

When Jesus leads us to the Father, He shows us how to embrace a grateful heart of trust. And, when we have been prepared to seek Him, He reminds us HE is near. He fills us with the goodness of grace and leads us where we discover; reward WILL come, when we remember to be thankful. 

If we begin our prayers in praise, God will fill us with content. He will arm us with everything we need to be readied to rise. He will set the stage for what’s to come and help us feel His presence in our lives. God is great, God is good! He has opened our eyes to another day of life! Isn’t that a reason to devote ourselves in prayer and be very, very thankful? 

Dear God, Thank you for waking us for another day of opportunity to recognize Your greatness. We will love You with all of our hearts, as we come before Your presence of peace and praise You with prayers of our thanks. And, we will never forget, there is strength in the power of Your endless love! Amen
