“My
thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are
far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than
the earth; so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than
your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Sometimes, we have expectations of what should happen in
our lives. And, when things don’t work out as planned, we become weary. We have
difficulty looking beyond distractions of disappointment and forget to maintain
a heart that trusts.
Distractions rob us of content. We become focused on what
we WANT and forget God already provides what we NEED. In the timing of His will,
He orchestrates the love of His faithfulness and provides the way for us to find
PEACE in the happenings of our days.
Jesus, the Good Shepherd leads us to the Father. He reaches
out His loving arms and leads us back where we belong. He renews our thoughts
and helps us focus on Him. He shows us how to put God first in our lives and
reminds us to remember He knows what’s best for our days.
Life will not always take us where we want to arrive. The
selfish side of want will not fill us with a heart of content. But God will
bless us by the power of His plan. He will ready us to see how it feels for
HOPE to guide our days. He will open the eyes of our hearts and prepare us to understand
His greatness. And, He will help us remember why He is worthy of our TRUST.
“For I
know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not
for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Dear God, Forgive us when we waste time feeling sorry for
ourselves. Help us open the eyes of our hearts to ALL You provide in Your time
and for great purpose. You know our EVERY need. We will trust in You to handle
the happenings of our days. And we will find strength from the PEACE which will
come from a grateful heart. Amen
