Your
words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and
the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts. Jeremiah
15: 16 ESV
Most of us have not experienced how it feels to starve. We have food on the
table to sustain our physical needs. But, we’ve allowed ourselves to feed on
mere morsels of spiritual crumbs and are hungry as we consider how empty our
hearts have become.
We hunger for peace and calm in a world that is hurting. We hunger for good health and a spirit of content. We hunger for purpose and hope, and recognize we are hungry for so much more…

God satisfies hunger in those who want to be fed. He prepares us to receive nourishment for our souls, as we put our trust in Him and feed on His Word. He waits to be invited to the table, so we will be filled with His loving gift of grace.
Only God can satisfy the hunger of our hearts and provide us with His perfect peace. When we have been nourished in love, we will begin to recognize how it feels to embrace a heart of content. We will understand what it means to truly be full.
Dear God, Open our hearts and fill us with Your everlasting love. Satisfy our hunger and show us how it feels to be nourished by You. You are mighty, holy and worthy of our praise. We will find strength as we feed on Your Word and allow ourselves to become gratefully full. Amen
