And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. Luke 2: 7 NIV
Christmas is more than just a day to celebrate. It is a season of opportunity to give ourselves to God and discover His mighty love. God prepares us for Christmas. He opens our hearts, so we will recognize why we need the Savior.
Hope came to heal when Jesus was born. The King of Kings did not enter
the world in a palace. He was born in a noisy stable. God silenced the
beasts who welcomed the child of wonder. And, in moments to be calmed by
the power of His plan, He gave us the Savior; our gift to the world!
Peace came from God’s breath of heaven and it is still offered to us today! Jesus longs for us to receive Him. The One delivered in chaos, knows the circumstances of our own. He wants us to find STRENGTH in the power of God’s plan and feel His precious presence in our lives.
When we become distracted, God will help us see why the world will NEVER provide what we need. It will rob us of peace. But, Jesus will meet us right where we are…He will humble our hearts and shows us how to welcome peace while we’re cradled in His care.
We must take time to be still and visit the manger, so we will consider why we celebrate the birth of our Savior. God will provide the way for us to welcome Jesus EVERY day of our lives. He will help us discover JOY in our relationship with Him. And, He will show us how it feels to embrace a grateful heart.
Dear God, Thank you for sending Your Son to the world. Help us trust in You, as we welcome Christmas and allow ourselves to feel Christ’s perfect peace. Fill us with the strength of Your faithfulness and help us remember why we must love You even more...Amen
