Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5-6 NIV
This has been a year of personal struggle for many; a season of challenge, worry and wonder. But, in times of trouble, Jesus meets us where we are. He patiently waits to prepare us to greet the Father. And while we are focused on the presence of His love, He prepares us to welcome PEACE.
There’s much to learn while we sit with Jesus. The One who brought light to the darkness also lightens our loads. The Bible says, Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
In gloomy days of doubt, God reminds us to patiently wait for better days to come. He hears the humble prayers of the righteous. And, when we are able to clearly see what waits to be discovered, He allows us to recognize we are so much stronger than we think.
Christ leads us to the Father. And, even when we don’t know what to pray, He knows our every need. He fills the empty spaces of our hearts and reminds us who’s in charge of ALL things. And, In moments to share the power of strength, He helps us remember why we must learn how it feels to trust.
We cannot know what the New Year will bring. But, we can have PEACE in knowing Christ is with us. He will guide and provide all the days of our lives and He will lead us to the Father. God has a plan for our days. If He leads us to it, surely He will lead us through all that waits to be discovered in His time and for His great purpose.
Dear God, Thank you for reminding us your strength is made perfect in weakness. Teach us to trust in You and never doubt the plans you have for our days. We will faithfully follow Jesus and open our hearts to His guiding of our days. And, as we welcome Christmas, we will remember to trust in His mighty power to save. Amen
