But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our
iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His
wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 NIV
God sent His Son to the world, knowing He would die a horrible death. Jesus felt more than we will ever know and experienced severe pain. He was beaten, mocked and forced to wear a crown of thorns on His head. He carried a cross which held the agony of pain. Nails were hammered through His flesh. And, those who did not know Him as Lord of their lives screamed, “Crucify Him!”

Videos portray this event and we turn our eyes away. We see images of
Christ suffering in a way that makes us feel guilty; undeserving of
grace. But, God NEVER turns His eyes away from us. He knows our
suffering and sees each tear that falls. As we gratefully consider the
sacrifice of Jesus, God helps us discover His peace. In moments to
recognize the magnitude of mercy, He reminds us we ARE worthy of His
love.
God has a plan for our days. He longs for us to appreciate the gift of salvation and know Him as Lord of our lives. He cradles us in care and lovingly takes our pain. He weaves life through His promise of hope and whispers to those who wonder, “I'm holding you, child. I know how you feel."
Dear God, You humble our hearts and help us remember You know about suffering. We will love You all the days of our lives and gratefully seek Your mercy and grace. We will fix our eyes on Jesus and never forget; by His wounds we ARE healed. Amen
