“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22: 37-39
God creates magnificent patterns in the design of His plans. The fabric of our lives is sewn by our Creator. The Maker of every living thing knows how to bind us together. But, often we need to be reminded; the blanket of wholeness is made from many threads.
God covers us in love. He loves ALL of His children. He wants us to love one another. We are not deserving of mercy and grace, but God reminds us we are worthy. He helps us consider the sacrifice of His Son. Jesus suffered and rose again. Hatred did not hold Him to the cross. It was LOVE that allowed God’s will to be fulfilled.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke a lot about LOVE. He said, “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” Everybody can be great because anybody can serve; you only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
The blanket of wholeness will unravel. Lives will become tangled and torn. But, in moments to recognize the power of love, GOD will repair holes in the heart. He will humble us to recognize why we need one another and open our eyes to discover why we need Him.
God will cover us with strength as we pray for our country, pray for our leaders and pray for PEACE. He will heal our land, if we turn from our selfish ways and allow the love of His faithfulness to grow. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7: 14
We will never understand how to share kindness until we open our hearts, choose to make a difference and allow PEACE to dwell where it belongs.
Dear God, Thank you for Your presence in our lives. Thank you for reminding us LOVE bears all things. Help us remember what will lead us to a place of wholeness and humble our hearts for YOU as we learn to love one another. Amen
