I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Lord my God. I will honor you forever because your mercy toward me is great. Psalm 86: 12-13
Often, we rush through weeks of autumn without taking time to embrace a grateful heart. We move quickly through November and focus only on Christmas. We forget Thanksgiving is so much more than a scheduled day to feast and need to be reminded why GRATITUDE is the foundation of our wholeness.
God asks us to
cultivate a heart of thankfulness. 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 says, “Give
thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ
Jesus. When we focus on our blessings, it’s easier to deal with life’s
difficulties. And, when we take time to consider ALL that God has done,
He helps us remember He's not finished working in our lives.
Praising God honors Him! It strengthens our faith and helps us think about what is good. How can we cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving? We can reflect on what has already been given and find a reason to be thankful.
God will provide a harvest of hope. He will open our eyes to celebrate this season of blessing. He will fill us full of everything we need and humble our hearts to discover why we must be thankful. He will show us how it feels to embrace a grateful heart and He will remind us how lucky we are to be loved by Him.
Dear God, As we prepare for Thanksgiving, help us remember to be thankful. Open our eyes to ALL You provide and guide us toward a prayer of praise. We will love You with all of our hearts and humbly consider how very much we are loved. And, we will remember why the strength of our GRATITUDE will bless us, as we learn to trust in YOU. Amen
