“Though I sit in the darkness, the Lord will be my light.” Micah 7:8

It’s hard to wake in darkness. We miss the sun that welcomes us to rise. But, God lovingly reminds us He is near. He readies our souls to welcome everything we need to feel the presence of His perfect peace. 

God knows how to silence distractions in the world. He prepares us to receive Him. In quiet moments of truth, He arms us with everything we need. He readies us to rise and be led through the darkness. And, He helps us remember we’re not alone. 

He prepares us to gratefully welcome the gift of another day. He shows how to embrace it. He sets the stage for what’s to come and reminds us to appreciate His gifts of creation. He opens our eyes to His will, so we will clearly see what waits to be discovered. And, He reminds us to be faithful. 

The sun will shine in God’s time and for His purpose. We don’t have to doubt in darkness. If we patiently wait to be warmed by greatness, God WILL fill us with the light of His love. We must never be afraid! HE is God. He is faithful. He will help us remember why reward will come to those who choose to be faithful. 

Dear God, YOU are the light of the world. Remind us You are HERE, when we sit in the darkness and patiently wait for the sun to rise. Thank you for the gift of another day! As You help us rise, open our eyes to the gifts of Your greatness and help us understand how lucky we are to be warmed by the love of YOUR light. Amen
