On Memorial Day, we remember those who put their lives on the line to preserve our freedom. As we gratefully take time to honor those who served this great country, we gratefully thank God for each and every one. 

As we spend time with family and relax with friends, often we often forget to consider the sacrifice of those who are no longer with us; brave men and women who served with dignity and pride. We forget to give thanks to those who bravely gave their lives. We forget to honor the heroes. 

Jesus said, “Greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends.” Christ set the ultimate example by giving His life for each one of us. On Memorial Day, we should honor those who gave their lives for our nation. And as we remember, we should think about the One who gave His life for our salvation.

“The best way to pay an unpayable debt is to show with our lives that we didn’t forget.”

Dear God, Thank you for moments to reflect with a grateful heart. Thank you for the brave men and women who courageously sacrificed for our country. We will never be able to repay them, but we will honor them, as we take time to remember the gifts of their lives. We will never forget...Amen
