Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12: 2 NIV
Jesus knew the pain of His fate, but He focused on what was to come. We should remember His death and resurrection, but sometimes we forget to open our eyes. We lose sight of the One who took our pain and miss opportunities to visit the cross. We neglect to examine our lives and recognize why we NEED the Savior.
By nature, we are rebellious toward God and we all sin. But, His love and grace allow us to be forgiven. We love Him, because He first loved us. When we allow ourselves to be led by faith, He covers the wounds of our weakness. God bandages brokenness and allows us to see ourselves as He sees us; worthy of His love, even though we’re not deserving…
God rejoices in tender moments when when we're ready to receive Him. He humbles us in truth and allows us to recognize the power of peace. He prepares us to find strength in the love of His faithfulness. He helps us discover what’s missing in our lives and readies us to love Him unconditionally. He helps us learn to be faithful.
If we take time to consider what has been done for EACH of us, we will realize Jesus deserves our hearts. We mustn’t turn from the One who took our pain. He is worthy of so much MORE than we choose to give. He knows the heart of our need.
God will show us amazing things to discover. His mercy is great and His love is eternal. He is mighty, awesome and good! He wants us to experience the love of Jesus. He is near. He is here. Let's honor Him today.
Dear God, Thank you for moments to remember what Jesus did for each one of us. We are grateful to have a Savior who lives! Humble our hearts and open our eyes in truth. Help us not be afraid to surrender our sin and proclaim the gifts of Your greatness. Forgive us when we get caught up in selfish want. Help us remember You are the Provider of everything we need. We will love You with all of our hearts and welcome Your mercy and grace. And, we will gratefully love You even MORE... Amen
