So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. John 4:16 ESV
God is deserving of ALL of our love. He nurtures our faith and honors the prayers of our praise. When we forget to open our hearts and welcome Him, He reminds us how to love Him even MORE!
God doesn’t love us because
we are deserving of His love. We sin and become rebellious. We miss
needed opportunities to feel the love of the Father. But God knows the
heart of our need. "He doesn’t just love us. He IS love!” While we were
still sinners, Christ died for each one of us. He demonstrated never
ending love with the sacrifice of Jesus.
The Bible says we should love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls and might. Deuteronomy 6:5. God created us to love Him with every part of our being. But often we become selfish in what we choose to give. We offer only mere morsels of love and become greedy in the selfish side of want.
If God only gets short moments, we will never learn to welcome His presence of peace. Our hearts won’t have time to be humbled for Him. We won’t discover how it feels to be deeply loved. And we will not have the opportunity to experience abundant joy.
We must put God first in our lives, love Him with ALL of our hearts and desire His goodness and grace. He will guide us in His WORD and ready us to feel the depth of His greatness. And, when we see how wonderful it is to be held in His glory of good, we will want to love Him so much MORE.
Dear God, We can never thank you enough for loving us. Thank for you reminding us we are worthy of what You provide. Thank you for precious love. Open our hearts to feel the fruit of Your faithfulness. And help us not forget; the prayers of our praise are FOR YOU, Lord. Our deepest love will ALWAYS be FOR YOU. Amen
