Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute, and LOVE without stopping. 1 Corinthians 16: 14 MSG
Happy Valentine’s Day! On a day to celebrate those we love, we’re grateful for feelings that bless us. It makes us feel joyful to feel treasured and loved. But God wants us to also remember why the greatest form of LOVE is meant to be shared EVERY day.
”We have all been put on earth together for a reason, and the
difficulty of LOVE is exactly what enables it to be so powerful.” God’s
LOVE is so much more than a feeling. The Bible says, “Dear children, let
us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” God
wants us to remember LOVE is a gift of good. It is more powerful than a
feeling. And when we share the love of Christ, we begin to understand
why we have been created to LOVE one another…
We are all here for a purpose. God wants us to encourage each other EVERY day with the gifts He provides. He is honored when we recognize “The highest love is not based on feelings, but a commitment of our will.” He readies us to remember real love never stops loving because God IS LOVE!
As we remain faithful, He allows us to experience the joy of His greatness and clearly see the life of Jesus as an example to follow. He served others with a humble heart and taught about the LOVE of our Father. His love was shown by the way He lived.
The Bible says love is patient and kind. It’s not envious, arrogant or rude. It is not selfish or easily angered. It doesn’t keep a record of how others have wronged us. It endures with hope and remains when the going gets tough... Jesus washed His disciples’ feet in humble moments to demonstrate the heart of His love. We can show Christ-like love to others and allow them to see the kind of LOVE that was shown by Jesus.
It’s wonderful to celebrate a day with those we LOVE! May we continue to love with patience, faith, generosity, wisdom and grace; and never forget GOD is the source of the highest LOVE. We will honor Him, if we simply LOVE one another.
Dear God, Thank you for the heart of Your faithfulness. Thank you for giving us moments to feel the depth of Your amazing LOVE. On this day to remember those we treasure with happy thoughts of joy, help us also be mindful to LOVE one another with our actions EVERY day of our lives. We will honor You with LOVE and open our hearts to be humbled by the gifts that make us grateful. Thank you, Lord, Thank you for loving us so very much! Amen
