Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39
God creates amazing patterns in the design of His will. The fabric of our lives is sewn by our Creator. The Maker of every living thing knows how to bind us together. Sometimes, we need to be reminded why the blanket of His wholeness is made from many threads.
God covers us in love. He loves ALL of His children and He wants us to love one another. We are not deserving of mercy and grace, but God reminds us we are worthy. He helps us consider the sacrifice of His Son. Jesus suffered but hatred didn't hold Him to the cross. It was LOVE that allowed God’s will to be fulfilled.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke a lot about LOVE. He said, “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” Everybody can be great because anybody can serve; you only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
Blankets of wholeness will unravel. Lives will become tangled and torn. But in moments to recognize the power of love, GOD will repair holes in the heart. He will humble us to understand why we need one another. And He will open our eyes to discover why we need Him.
God will cover us with strength as we pray. We will never understand how to share kindness until we open our hearts, choose to make a difference and allow peace to dwell where it belongs.
Dear God, Thank you for Your presence in our lives. Thank you for reminding us why LOVE bears all things. Help us remember what will lead us to a place of wholeness and humble our hearts for YOU as we simply learn to love one another. Amen
