And she gave birth to her firstborn son. And she wrapped Him in swaddling-cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was not a place for them in the inn.
Luke 2: 7
At Christmas, we’re reminded Jesus was born in crude surroundings. We see pictures of Mary and Joseph welcoming our Savior in a stable with the animals. We experience a heart of humbleness, as we visit the manger and think about how Jesus arrived.
Mary and Joseph must have had many questions as they faithfully traveled to Bethlehem. We too often question how God will choose to lead. But as we journey with Jesus, we learn how it feels to TRUST. We find strength from the power of His will and welcome the love of His greatness. Peace provides courage as we COPE WITH HOPE.
God takes care of us! Even in the midst of circumstances, He reminds us we’re not alone. As we examine our hearts, we begin to understand we too will travel with uncertainty. But God took care of Mary and Joseph and He WILL take care of us! He knows the desires of our hearts and has plans for our days. He will help us remain faithful.
Because of Jesus, we are given the gift of eternal life. Our journey on earth will not always be easy. But Jesus will guide us to the Father and give strength to keep on going... He will humble our hearts as we remember the events of His birth. And we will find JOY to anticipate the arrival of Christmas.
Dear God, Thank you for Jesus, Your gift to the world! As we journey on paths unknown, arm us with everything we need to be reminded we don’t have to travel alone. Help us experience Christmas PEACE, as we humble our hearts and consider the birth of Jesus. Thank you for the glory of Christmas and ALL You provide. Thank you for the love of Your Son. Bless us as we patiently follow the path that leads to You. And help us ALWAYS remain faithful. Thank you, Lord. Thank you! Amen
