For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:17
We need to be reminded what happened on the cross, so we can humbly honor Jesus and take time to remember His sacrifice of love. He bled and died a horrific death. The One without sin took the pain of our own.
Jesus suffered in a way we will never know. The weight of the world scarred His flesh. He sacrificed His life for each and every one of us. It’s hard to reflect on this type of suffering and deal with the sorrow of our shame. But God knows our pain. And when we admit our weakness, He allows us to be restored. He provides strength from His Spirit and reminds us why Jesus didn’t stay on the cross.
Jesus died so we will live! He longs to have a relationship with us. We must recognize we’re weak and admit we need forgiveness. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
It’s never too late for God to create a pure heart in us. But we must faithfully LOVE Him and never be afraid to GRATEFULLY remember the cross. Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
Dear God, we are sad to consider the suffering of Jesus. Forgive us when we turn away from the One who took our pain. You know the heart of ALL suffering. Help us find strength and allow the love of Your holiness to help us welcome HOPE. We will examine our lives and feel Your peace, as You renew a steadfast spirit in us. Thank you, Lord. Amen
