“Come,” Jesus said. So, Peter got out of the boat. He walked on the water toward Jesus. But when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid. He began to sink. He cried out, “Lord! Save me!” Right away Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “Your faith is so small!” he said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14: 29-31 NIRV
There will be days when doubt will creep in our souls. We will forget where to find needed strength. Worry will rob our hope and we will tread water that's deep. But God will remind us He is SO much bigger than doubt. He will help us remember who's in charge of our days.
Jesus performed miracles and demonstrated the power of His love. When Peter stepped on water, he began to sink. He called for Jesus to help. His faith was weak and he was afraid! When we are afraid, God wants us to BELIEVE more, so we will suffer less.
If we find ourselves sinking, we must trust the One who knows how to rescue. He will pull us from waves of fury and lead us safely to the shore. He will hear our prayers for mercy and help us find courage to keep on going. He will remind us to always trust.
God will take care of our needs, because He is with us! There WILL always be storms in our lives. But He will increase our faith, as He strengthens us. He will guide and provide for our days. We must prayerfully seek Him with humbled hearts, and never forget who has power to save!
Dear God, thank you for Your mercy and everlasting love. Teach us to trust in the power of Your will, so we will find hope in the storms. We will lift our hands to YOU and never doubt Your ability to lead us to a place of calm. And we will gratefully remember who has a plan for our days. Thank you, Lord. Thank you! Amen
