The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18 NLT
God knows the hurting of our hearts. He sees the burden of fear. And when life creates doubt and worries, He reminds us He is HERE.
Sometimes we’re afraid to admit we’re weak or speak about sadness and pain. We’re ashamed to say how we really feel and hide behind layers of shame.
But Christ knows what’s hidden deep inside. He knows the frailties of life. And when all we can whisper is, “I am sad.” He captures the tears that we hide. The Bible says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8 NLT
These are troubling times. We will feel worried and overwhelmed. But God will restore us with hope as we make room for peace to dwell. He has the power to do great things even in difficult days. And even when words aren’t spoken, He hears us when we pray.
It’s okay to cry with the heaviness of a hurting heart. We hurt for the world and for those who have experienced horrific loss. We hurt for those who risk their lives to help the ill. We hurt with uncertainty of what’s to come. And we hurt for so much more.
But when tears start to flow, we mustn’t hold back what needs to be given to Jesus. Surrender will make our hearts stronger than before. We will find peace in the honesty of our love and remember who has the power to restore us.
Dear God, Thank you for the power of Your amazing grace. You love us even through weakness and doubt. You see every tear that falls and allow us to empty the sorrow of our pain. Hold us with Your arms of strength and lift us when we need to be held for a while. We will find strength to remember; nothing will happen that together we can’t handle. Thank you, Lord for better days that will come. You have the power to make us strong. And we are so grateful! Amen
