God helps us welcome PEACE when take time to pray. He readies us to feel His presence and helps us find needed STRENGTH. He finds the way to remind us of the power of His love and humbles our hearts to recognize we need Him.
God loves us! He wants us to know how it feels to be covered by MERCY and GRACE. But sometimes we lose our strength. We become weary and broken. Tragedy disrupts our way of thinking and we question why there's suffering in the world.
The events of 9/ 11 continue to haunt us. We remember the horrors of that day. It overwhelms us to consider how many lost their lives in senseless acts of destruction. But as we reflect on one of saddest days in America, we mustn't forget; God does NOT create evil.
“There is potential for evil to enter the world, but there is also potential for goodness and love. Suffering is NOT good, but God can use it to accomplish good.” He took the death of Jesus on the cross and turned it into something great. “He opened the heavens to all who follow Him.”
Jesus said that there WILL be suffering in the world. He did not say there “may” be. But the day is coming when suffering will stop and God will judge all evil. He promises He will compensate us with eternal reward. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4: 7
We must TRUST God in ALL things and never lose sight of His faithfulness. He will give us HOPE to endure and provide everything we need as we walk with the Savior. We will find comfort in His words…“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have PEACE. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16: 33
Dear God, our hearts are saddened to remember September 11, 2001. Please be with the families who lost loved ones on that day. Comfort those who continue to suffer in so many ways. We will seek You with ALL of our hearts and pray for You to heal the hurt in America. Cover our wounds and bandage the sores of our souls so we will find STRENGTH to believe better days are coming. Thank you, Lord for the HOPE You place in our hearts when we learn to totally TRUST in YOU. Amen
