“Come," Jesus said. So, Peter got out of the boat. He walked on the water toward Jesus. But when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid. He began to sink. He cried out, “Lord! Save me!” Right away Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. “Your faith is so small!” he said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14: 29-31 NIRV
There will be days when doubt will creep in the soul of our well-being and try to eliminate our joy. These are the moments we’ll need to be reminded where to find courage and HOPE...
Jesus demonstrated the power of His love and performed many miracles. Peter walked on water. But when He began to sink, He called for Jesus to help. His faith was weak and He was afraid. When we’re afraid, God longs for us to BELIEVE more, so we will SUFFER less.
When we find ourselves sinking, the sense of need drives us to the One who says, “COME to ME!” Jesus pulls us from waves of worry. And when we’re ready to be lifted, He leads us safely to the shore. He hears our prayers for strength and guides us where we find refuge.
Christ is NEVER far in time of need. There WILL be storms in our lives. But He WILL strengthen our faith, as He strengthens us. He WILL guide and provide ALL of our days. We must prayerfully seek Him with all of our hearts and gratefully remember who has the power to SAVE.
Dear God, thank you! You demonstrate Your holiness when we need to be reminded NOT to doubt. Thank you for mercy, grace and miracles! We’ll find comfort in the arms of Jesus and HOLD ON tight as we learn to TRUST in YOU. Thank you for Your faithful love. Amen
