Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLT
I recently made Banana Bread and realized the bowl I chose was much too small to accommodate the mixing of ingredients. Batter flowed over the top and made a mess on my counter and floor. I had to start over again, focus on what I was doing and locate a much bigger bowl.
God longs to satisfy our hearts. But when we add too much of what we WANT it doesn’t allow God to provide what we NEED. We create an overflow of worry, doubt and neglect to make room for His love. We forget to make better choices and let Him handle the messiness of life.
We will make mistakes as we welcome God’s timely rewards. But He will show us how to follow the recipe of life. Our hearts will be blessed by His greatness if we mix the abundance of JOY with the goodness of TRUST and pay attention to what we’re doing.
“God doesn’t send anyone away empty, only those who are already too full of themselves.” I hope we never become too selfish and forget who’s in charge of our days. Everything will beautifully blend together if we allow God to fill us with His presence and show us how to make room for His amazing LOVE. It will remain in our hearts forever.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
Dear God, thank you for loving us through our days. Help us surrender the desire to have control and discover what happens when we pray. Empty worry and doubt as we surrender to You and allow ourselves to be filled by Your greatness. Help us embrace what will bless our lives, so we will stop sharing only morsels of our love. Thank you for what happens when we focus on YOU, make better decisions and remember who WILL handle the messiness of life. Let YOUR LOVE overflow in our hearts, forever and ever! Thank you, Lord. Thank you for what is pleasing and good. Thank you for what makes us feel grateful. Amen
